2008 FORD MUSTANG

An extremely rare opportunity to own a collectors grade Shelby GT500 in Grabber Orange with only two previous owners and on sub 30,000 miles. Assembled at Ford Auto Alliance International on 11/07/2007. This vehicle is number 2381 of a build of 6513 coupes and is number 68 of 210 manufactured in Grabber Orange. (Original certificate included). The car also has an original authentic signed by Carroll Shelby dash plaque.

A 2008 model year Grabber Orange, 5.4l SC 4V V8 engine with 6 speed manual transmission, HID headlamps, GT500 premium trim package.

The first owner was UK based and customised and ordered the car direct with Ford USA and upon been built had it transported to the UK immediately in 2008 where the car has resided its entire life.

This first UK owner spent around a further £20,000 on the car fitting the very best Griggs Professional Racing suspensions components, coilovers, torque arm, panhard bar and more (detailed below). The brakes were also upgraded with EBC items with a total cost of over £10,000 but the transformation is a Shelby with fantastic handling.

This owner also upgraded the sound system and had the entire car lined with Dynamat to ensure no unwanted rattles within the cabin which works great.

Exterior wise the car presents as stock, the car even has the original tyres supplied from 2008 still in fantastic condition (3-4mm tread and no cracking) due to been stored indoors out of sunlight. The car is currently sat on new Yokohama AD09RS tyres all round.

The first owner owned the car from 2008 until 2024, where the car was sold to a Simply Mustang club member / car trader who then sold the car to myself in 2025.

In my ownership I have done a major service, all fluids, spark plugs and all filters on the car (oil, fuel, cabin, supercharger) and I've also fitted a VMP Stage 3 tuning kit which truly woke the car up and made it drive even smoother and nicer, the power is intoxicating but demands great respect, I have all factory components so the power can be restored to stock, but the VMP kit makes the car more driveable and just a nicer drive, plus when you truly feel brave enough and got wide open throttle the extra shuff from the VMP Stage 3 kit (Pulley, CAI, Plugs and remap) is addictive and as these engines are good for around 1000HP on stock internals we are taking no risk with power still been under 600HP.

The car was a tick box car for me, having owned a Saleen S197 around twenty years ago I just had to try a proper Shelby GT500 and that engine and gearbox is a huge step up, the 5.4l cast iron engine has immense torque and just feels bullit proof and the 6 speed Tremec is a huge improvement in the Shelby, every gear shift is an event. This is a true drivers car that requires respect, it is so involving and such a thrill to drive, it has taking me months to actually advertise the car.

I use the car often, having done around 2000 miles in the last year myself in it, the car is faultless and has no issues and is fully serviced with fresh tyres, so needs for nothing. Either add it to collection or enjoy it either way these cars are mega rare in the UK and this Grabber Orange example is rare full stop worldwide!
