Description
First unveiled in 1998, the 1st Generation Audi TT is considered one of the best designs of the 90s - With an instantly recognisable and simplified curved shape which was unusual at the time, it was able to match the drag co-efficient of the smaller MX5 and Z4 in period.
Before the second generation TT was released, the original and now classic first generation TT was celebrated with a limited production run of 1,165 TT Quattrosport vehicles - These came with a number of improvements over the standard 225 TT and was certainly the pick of the bunch. Power was increased to 240bhp and weight was reduced by 75kg by removing the spare wheel, rear harmonic damper, rear parcel shelf and rear seats and the standard fitment air conditioning. The main battery was also relocated to the rear of the vehicle in order to maintain weight distribution as much as possible and beautiful lightweight fixed-back Recaro Pole Position bucket seats were fitted to the interior. The ultimate first generation Audi TT, this rare machine is becoming a classic collector vehicle for many.
This particular TT Quattrosport is owned by a good friend of Maple House Classic Cars. It offers a low entry price into a car that has increased in value dramatically over recent years, and is presented ready to be enjoyed by its new enthusiast owner.
Exterior
The two tone Misano Red / Black paintwork presents exceptionally well throughout for the age and mileage of the vehicle, with some slight discolouration to areas of the bonnet and a small amount of bubbling on the rear quarter. Dont let this detract, as overall it defies the condition of most red cars of similar vintage.
Interior
The interior again presents exceptionally well, with no real damage or wear to note. The colour coded Recaro Pole position seats are in extremely good condition for the age and are as beautiful as they are comfortable. The dash and accessories all work as expected although it does suffer the usual lines within the central display.
Mechanical
Mechanically, it operates exactly as expected - The boost comes on strong and is noticably faster than the usual 225 BAM powered Audi TT - She settles into idle quickly and sounds great.
