2006 PORSCHE 911

I’ve owned this Midnight Blue Carrera 2 since 2023, having sought out a 3.6L over a 3.8L for their engine reliability, and because I like the way they rev.

With the upgrades to suspension and other carefully considered modifications, such as a short shift kit (supplied and fitted by RPM Technik), this one is a real driver’s car and nothing but a joy to pedal (and listen to, whilst doing so). If you’re looking for a long list of options, this will not be the one for you - it has everything you need and nothing you don’t.

Cared for by Friends Green Porsche (FGP) during my ownership, the car has a full service history, having been looked after by Porsche OPCs and specialists, such as RPM Technik and JZM during its time with previous custodians. It is in superb condition, both inside and out, as well as mechanically.

In addition to regular servicing (last major completed in April 2024 by FGP) and smaller jobs (e.g. exhaust flange fittings, coil pack heat shields, new floor mats etc.), the car has recently had the following updates and upgrades:

- Switchable Top Gear exhaust system (2020)

- Bilstein B4 dampers and Eibach lowering springs (2021)

- Clutch slave cylinder (2023)

- Ceramic coated bodywork and wheels (2024)

- Porsche OEM aerokit front bumper and magnetic plate kit (2024)

- Starter motor and Y-cable (2024)

- Michelin PS4S rears (2024)

- Michelin PS4S fronts (2025)

- Clutch (2025)

- Water pump and low temperature thermostat (2025)

- Brake hoses rear (2025)

- Ageing headlight lens replaced by Rennlens (2025)

Those are just the bigger bits, I will pass on the folder with invoices dating back through much of the car's history.

In 2023 (mileage 105,000), LAP911 in Swindon carried out a top-end engine rebuild, following a misfire diagnosis caused by a failing inlet camshaft. As part of the £7,000 project, a new cylinder head and inlet camshaft were fitted. A gentle break-in period followed, after which LAP911 checked and changed engine oil and filter again, before giving the all clear. Pictures and invoices for this work form part of the folder of extensive documentation that comes with the car. To keep the engine in good health, it has always been warmed to oil operating temperature before being rev’d. For those who like numbers, the oil consumption has been 0.15-0.2L / 1,000km throughout my ownership.

On the inside, I have switched the original PCM for a wireless Apple / Android CarPlay unit, to enable Google Maps, Spotify etc. to be used. I will return to the original PCM for the new owner, unless they wish to keep the upgraded unit. Since taking the pictures, I have had the gear knob, gator and handbrake re-trimmed in grey Alcantara with dark grey stitching (Royal Steering Wheels) and fitted a 991.2 steering wheel from a Carrera GTS - see additional pictures. I will switch the wheel back to the original for the sale - the GTS steering wheel is not included in the sale, but I'm happy to discuss selling it separately. Car was spec'd with the extended leather option and the the sea blue leather seats have been treated annually, with furniture clinic products, to retain their suppleness.

Should you be interested, I have available on request the (rather glowing) pre-purchase inspection report from Nick Giles, carried out in 2023 when I bought the car. The major service health check report that FGP carried out in 2024 is also part of the extensive documentation and I’m happy to share with interested parties. All recommended work has been carried out in the last 12 months. There is a yellow ‘monitor and replace as required’ on the over-engine pipes. I have chosen not to have this work done yet, since the engine was out in 2023 and corroded coolant pipes were replaced at the time (invoice available).
