2011 Caterham

This Roadsport was one of the very last K-Series powered Caterhams to leave the Dartford factory.

It is powered by the 1.4L version of the light-weight aluminium engine, and produces 105bhp. The K-Series engine is famous for having an incredibly short piston stroke, which enables it to rev high, and incredibly smoothly. Nowere is that more aparant than in the super sweet 1.4L version of this engine, with a steady increase in power the higher you take it up the rev range. Even in its standard guise this engnine rev’s to over 7,000 RPM, and it rewards you all the way to the top.

Not only do these engines rev well, but they also sound terrific, with bags of charm and character. The 105bhp on offer from this edition offers plently enough power to enjoy the thrills of driving a Caterham, and keeps the experience light and enjoyable without intimidation.

This particular example is as clean as the day it was new, in gleaming Lotus Azure Blue. With just under 5,000 miles covered from new, and two extremely diligent owners, keeping it in the best possible condition. A couple of clues to their love and diligence can be seen in things like, the alignment of the screws on the polished Motolita steering wheel, and the indicator switch still having it protective packaging on it…
