This stunning Land Rover Defender 90 SV is one of the rarest limited-edition Defenders ever produced with only 90 examples built and an estimated 37 remaining in the UK, its a true collectors item with a huge file which includes the original sales invoice and special vehicle operations authentication plate as the cherry on top for this fantastic piece of Land Rover history. This particular example stands above the rest, having undergone an extensive nut-and-bolt restoration by the renowned specialists at Bespoke Defender. Every component was meticulously stripped down, inspected, and rebuilt with no expense spared including a new chassis. Where replacement parts were required, even the smallest of parts were sourced carefully to ensure complete originality. The original 200Tdi engine received a full rebuild with all necessary parts renewed, while the body was removed from the chassis and resprayed to perfection in Caprice Teal, beautifully prepared this Defender 90 SVs distinctive original finish. The Defender 90 SV holds a unique place in Land Rover history as the first model developed by Land Rovers own Special Vehicle Operations division (hence the name SV for Special Vehicle). This small, specialist department was tasked with creating unique and higher-performance variants of Land Rovers standard models. Produced between 1993 and 1994, the 90 SV was launched at a pivotal time when Land Rover sought to move beyond its agricultural and working roots and appeal to the emerging fun and lifestyle market. The result was an iconic, stylish, and capable short-wheelbase Defender that marked the beginning of a new era for the brand.
