EXTERIOR

A rare opportunity to acquire a beautifully specified and very low mileage example of Alpina’s celebrated biturbo coupe, the E92-based grand tourer that blends understated aggression, precision engineering and daily usability in a way only Alpina can. With just 23k miles from new, this particular example presents in superb condition throughout. The Sparkling Graphite paintwork has a lovely smooth finish with a deep metallic lustre across every panel. Completing the look are contrasting Alpina stripes and original 19-inch Alpina Dynamic alloy wheels, all in excellent condition with no kerb marking to report. Other nice touches include Alpina front and rear spoilers, red brake calipers, electric folding door mirrors, and a glass sunroof.

INTERIOR

Inside, the car is appointed with Coral Red leather that really pops against the carpets and paintwork. In line with the low mileage, the Dakota upholstery is extremely clean with a perfect texture that’s free from any wear or shine. The usual BMW refinement is further enhanced with subtle Alpina touches including branded door sills, a numbered production plaque (098), a bespoke instrument cluster with signature blue dials, and Coral Red stitching on the Alpina steering wheel. The cabin retains its original iDrive system and switchgear, and of course everything works as it should.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Powering the B3 is Alpina’s reworked version of BMW’s N54 engine, a 3-litre twin-turbocharged straight-six producing 360hp and 500 Nm of torque. Tuned for effortless mid-range performance and long-distance refinement, the B3 achieve 0-60mph in a swift 4.8 seconds. Reprogrammed with Alpina’s Switch-Tronic software, the 6-speed ZF automatic gearbox offers both relaxed cruising and rapid manual shifts when desired. The ride is composed yet engaging, thanks to Alpina’s unique suspension calibration, making the B3 as competent on a spirited B-road drive as it is on the motorway. Last serviced at BMW in November 2024 and fully inspected on arrival at 4 Star, the car is in great mechanical shape.

HISTORY FILE

First registered in May 2008 and supplied to its first keeper by John Clark BMW, this E92 B3 Biturbo has covered just 23,405 miles from new. The car is accompanied by its original Alpina book pack, owner’s manuals, service book, spare key, and the current V5C showing only 3 former keepers. The last service was carried out at BMW only 1,200 miles ago, and most recently the car benefits from new inner tie rods, track rod ends, and 4-wheel alignment. Services have been carried out at the following mileages: 11,580 (BMW specialist) – 15,385 (BMW specialist) – 16,592 (BMW) – 20,632 (BMW specialist) – and lastly at 22,204 miles in November 2024 (BMW).
