EXTERIOR

This Capri S is a real drivers car finished in stunning Diamond White, (B3), and boasts a glorious shine. The smart ‘S’ stripes subtly shaded are the originals, fully intact and contrast perfectly against the white paintwork. The tiniest of marks can only be seen under intense scrutiny such as a touched-in stone chip to the bonnet and favoured by most knowing the car is factory original. The four Hella headlamps are crystal clear and the rubberised rear spoiler along with all other black seals and rubbers are straight and soft being carefully garaged stored since new. All tinted glass is unmarked and the car still wears the dealer supplied front and rear number plates. The underside has been preserved perfectly thanks to Pava rustproofing from new with the rear screen sticker still attached. With the same suspension setup derived from the highly acclaimed 2.8 Injection and sporting visual enhancements, this is a rare and special Capri model.

INTERIOR

Helping the cabins sporty look are seats finished in the Grey Laser fabric trim, (Code QL), with matching pristine door and quarter panel inserts. Spotlessly clean, the driver’s seat base edge is slightly dipped with no wear. Luxury features like the cut-pile carpet, adjustable head restraints and front centre armrest are all in splendid condition and the soft feel instrument panel has no cracks. Prominent veins to the steering wheel and lack of wear to other touch points are found only on very low mileage examples. All controls fully function including the two-speed heater fan, analogue quartz clock and Ford P32 radio. The boot area houses the original jack and virgin spare wheel with Grandprix Goodyear tyre still with coloured banding to the tread. The parcel shelf is pin straight and untouched and factory sticker remains attached to the boot floor. An iconic and instantly familiar classic Ford interior.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

The factory fitted 2.0S OHC ‘pinto’ unit is famed for its performance and robust and simple mechanics. The engine is quiet and performs brilliantly with a top speed of 113mph and 0-60mph time of 9.6 seconds. The engine bay is beautifully clean with factory stickers and plates displayed and even bright factory markings long lost or at least very faded on most examples! The 5-speed gearbox is light and works through the gears precisely, and the clutch feels positive.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES

This Capri 2.0S remains fitted with the correct RS-style four-spoke alloy wheels which are in superb order with no damage and defined part number and Ford emblem stampings to the spokes clearly visible. Recently replaced all round are premium Uniroyal 185/70 R13 tyres which have covered approximately 500 miles. The hydraulic dual-line servo-assisted front discs and rear drums stop the car quickly and in a straight line.

HISTORY FILE

Factory build records confirm that this Ford Capri 2.0S was built in June 1983 at the Ford factory in Saarlouis, Germany. Registered new on 12th August 1983 by Ford Main Dealer, Spruce Howlett & Co Ltd in Norwich, this example has covered just 13,441 miles from new. Sold in 2023 by KGF Classic Cars to Mr Upton who had owned a Capri many years ago and wanted to relive the Capri experience. The car has now been offered back to us following Mr and Mrs Upton’s retirement and upcoming travel plans meaning the car is being used less. A full service using Ford Motorcraft oil filter and cambelt change was carried out in September 2025.

The handbooks, guides, dealership literature and original stamped service booklet are present and a collection of previous MOT certificates and invoices dating back to the 1990’s. Completing the history file are three sets of keys with supplying dealer leather key fobs, supplying dealer tax disc holder and an original 1983 Ford range brochure. This 2.0S must be one of the lowest mileage, most original and untouched examples remaining.
