2005 BMW M3

BMW e46 M3 Convertible 2005 SMG, with 71k miles and 10months MOT. 19" diamond cut alloys, Carbon Black paint with black leather interior.

(hardtop available for additional ££££)

I bought her in April 2021 (after lots of searching for a well loved example), and have spent the last 4 years fixing, upgrading and restoring her to what you see in the photos and videos below.

Always garaged, always warmed up properly, regularly cleaned and recently clay bared and polished/waxed.

I have lots of receipts for work and servicing done before my ownership. Including an SMG gearbox CSL tune, (blips the throttle on downshifts) and the engine has an Evolve engine tune (350bhp) combined with 200 cell Sports cats. As a result the engine revs more freely and sounds fantastic. The alloys had also received a diamond cut refurbishment and look fantastic with no curbing marks.

When I bought this car (after lots of searching for a good base for a restoration), the first thing I did was a Service 2. Everything was checked, and renewed as needed.

The Service 2 included:

Engine Oil,

Gearbox Oil,

Drive/Aux belts,

Diff Oil,

Coolant changed,

Brake/power-steering fluid,

Air conditioning re-gas + lubricants.

Compression test. - All level and in spec.

Over the next few years I undertook the following:

Differential reconditioned with new input/output seals.

Engine block pressure relief valve seal changed..

FRONT AND REAR SUSPENSION REFRESH. This included shocks, springs, bump stops, top mounts and bushes + Geo. (I used OEM spec shocks and springs).

Driver's seat leather reconditioned and bolster stitching repaired.

New set of Continental 7s all round.

Dimming rear view mirror changed.

SMG pump's accumulator and salmon relay replaced. (+Clutch adaption) Now its spot on!

Hydro dipped carbon effect interior trim.

Powder coated cross braces and exhaust mount with new gearbox rubber mounts. I've also cleaned up the subframe and wax oiled where needed.

Purchased an OEM Wind deflector (included for asking price).

Paint less dent removal to flanks and bonnet.

Replaced headlight and windscreen washer pumps and replaced the headlight washer spray nozzles.

8" Alpine digital radio + Apple Car play infotainment head unit was fitted already but I nstalled an 8” sub in ski hatch + dedicated Sub Amp. The Alpine door speakers were refitted and sound deadening added to the door cards and refitted with new door trim clips. (no rattles and crisp bass)

I replaced the rear silencer (with Euro tips) and centre section. I still have the old centre section exhaust pipe with the deleted resonator, if you love that extra Raspy sound.

(If you're interested, I bought a Hard top last year and had it repainted it in carbon black. I retrimmed the headliner and added sound deadening to the inside of the roof, to get rid of the tinny sound that metal hard tops often have. This is available for an additional +£1100 on asking price).
