1988 Cherry Red Peugeot 205 GTI 114k miles - lots of work done

Up for sale is my 205 GTI 1. 6 in cherry red with 114,000 miles

This is a great 205 GTI with loads of work carried out over recent years and gets admiring comments and thumbs up wherever it goes.

Work in my ownership (not exhaustive list) includes:

Head skimmed and rebuilt with refined pistons etc

New rear beam last year;

Suspension rebuilt with correct bilstein shocks;

New brake discs all round;

Bm baker gear linkages;

Plugs, filters etc all done;

New engine mounts;

New exhaust system;

New windscreen from Peugeot vintage centre in France

Lots of little jobs like new gear knob, new red external trim all round, new bumper brackets;

Fuel tank dropped and underside sealed;

Wheels refurbished

Have invoices for some but not all work but all clearly visible via inspection!

Carpets in good condition

Seats in good condition (drivers bolster would benefit from being re foamed at some point)

Have original book packs;

Number plates match supplying dealer;

Some paperwork and old invoices;

Drives and handles great, pulls well;

Recent work and set up by vintage Peugeot specialist and master technician ;

Current MOT

Bad points:

Was rubbed down and resprayed 6 years ago (photos available) but a few areas have some rust bubbling through (photos show);

Would benefit from sills being done at some point as some corrosion showing;

Some areas of interior trim very faded (have recently touched up with proper grey trim dye which has helped

Sun roof seals and works but trim often comes loose due to a broken clip. (Am sure one could be sourced from a breaker)

Think that’s about it! Happy to answer any questions but really good honest 205 gti that presents well and can be improved over time but driven now.

Will be sad to see her go but fancy a change to a convertible again.
