The Land Rover Range Rover was launched in 1970 by British Leyland. The first-generation Range Rover (also known as the Range Rover "Classic" or "Suffix-A") was produced between 1969 and 1996, and was not initially devised as a luxury 4×4. The third-generation Range Rover (L322) was produced between 2002 and 2012, and saw the model move further up-market.
