The Maserati MC12
It was primarily developed as a homologation vehicle for motorsport. Homologation is a process whereby a manufacturer produces a limited number of road cars that meet the technical and safety requirements needed to compete in certain racing series. In this case, the MC12 was developed specifically to compete in the FIA GT Championship. It was to be produced between 2004 and 2005 in a very limited number of only 50 units, 25 of which were intended for road use and 25 for racing. Due to the extreme interpretation of the regulations by the Maserati engineers, they had to shorten the front of the car minimally, which is why a further 25 road cars had to be built. In the end, 50 road cars were built, the first 25 of which had a slightly longer front end than the later 25 cars.
The Maserati MC12 is undoubtedly a car that makes the hearts of sports car enthusiasts all over the world beat faster. This vehicle is not only a symbol of luxury and performance, but also a true masterpiece of engineering. At its heart is a powerful 6.0-litre V12 engine that produces 632 hp. This immense power allows the MC12 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and reach a top speed of over 330 km/h. This car offers a breathtaking driving experience that is second to none. The aerodynamic design of the Maserati MC12 is another aspect that sets it apart from other sports cars. The design has been influenced by wind tunnel testing and intensive research to ensure optimum aerodynamics and stability at high speeds. The result is a car that not only looks and drives incredibly well on the track, but also on the road. This, coupled with the exciting history of its creation, makes the MC12 a legend in the automotive world.
About the vehicle offered here:
The vehicle offered here is one of 50 examples ever produced and was finally delivered by Maserati to its first owner in France on 2 July 2005 after its initial registration on 12 June 2005. During the ten years in which the MC12 remained in France, it was serviced by Charles Pozzi, as evidenced by the following dates: on 4 May 2010 with 2,210 km for €16,000, on 3 June 2013 with 2,328 km for €16,800 and on 14 November 2013 with 2,427 km for €22,300. The vehicle was then sold to Germany, where it ended up in the hands of the sports car dealer Esser in 2015. He had the vehicle serviced at Lueg Sportivo in Düsseldorf on 27 November 2015 with a mileage of 3,341 km.
After its time in Germany, the Maserati ended up in Switzerland, where it was presented to the authorities for the first time on 25 January 2017 and became part of a large collection. During its time in Switzerland, no expense was spared for its upkeep despite minimal use, as a result of which work was carried out on the vehicle on 21 January 2022 with a mileage of 3,787 km and on 10 February 2022 with 3,832 km. This included fitting new tyres, which are very popular in the dimensions of the MC12. On 18 May 2024, the Swiss registration was cancelled and the vehicle has not been re-registered since. We are now delighted to be able to offer this Maserati MC12 with a mileage of just 4,050 km. The original on-board folder including service booklet and operating instructions are still present, as is the tool set hidden under the front bonnet.
