The Appeal

When Audi and BMW upped the dog-carrying anti with the RS6 and M5 wagons, Mercedes-Benz went to the fight well armed. While its designers kept to the traditionally restrained brief, the firm’s engineers went a little bonkers, dropping the snorting 6.2L 510bhp V8 beneath the bonnet. All delivered to the road via the rear wheels.

Naturally, these cars are the high water mark of Stuttgart’s petrol-powered era. When you buy one you want one that is standard and has been properly looked after. And here we have exactly that.

This 2007 E63’s Obsidian Black paintwork neatly understates its potential. The car has been meticulously maintained by its current and previous keepers and presents in very good order.
