We are very proud to present this Iconic Impreza 22B. This is the second time we have had this particular 22B in our showroom, having previously purchased the car from the long term (22 years) second owner.

This Japanese performance icon is an Appreciating Classics favourite & if you know your Impreza models then you will appreciate why.

These models have become extremely sought after, thanks largely to the rarity, but also the link to WRC legend Colin McRae & the fact that Subaru have arguably never given us such a special car, either before or since.

This is an incredible opportunity to own such a low mileage & well kept 22B.

History

Imported from Japan when it was new, this 22B has been loved since day one.

Registered when imported by the import company, the ‘first private owner’ was then recorded as the second owner on the V5 – this owner purchased the car at just 400 miles old & the car stayed in the care of this owner from 1999 until 2021!

Stored in a heated garage from 1999 until 2021 with the second owner, until we purchased the vehicle in 2021.

We had the pleasure of recommissioning the vehicle ready for sale & we sold this example an Appreciating Classics client with a vast car collection, where it has remained until now & we are delighted to offer the car for sale for a second time.

Correct original 22B booklet is with the paperwork, along with a letter from the long term second owner which explains the reasoning for the low mileage in its early life.

This stunning 22B has benefitted from a recent underside deep clean & clear underseal along with the wheel arches having the same treatment.

We have previously carried out a full cavity wax on the car. This & the full PPF make it a very useable car should you desire & ensure it is ready for it’s new custodian to enjoy.

Body & Paintwork

This 22B presents exactly as you would expect. Badges are original, as are all trims, all glass & all lights.

The door glass has some very, very light scratching, which almost all two-door Impreza’s suffer from, but otherwise there is no damage, no dings, just exactly as Subaru intended.

Paintwork is in great condition, say for a couple of small marks on the bonnet under the PPF. The car benefited from a professional enhancement detail session before having full PPF (paint protection film) applied.

A few small marks are present on the original wheels, however the owner decided not to have any paintwork carried out as he wanted to keep the originality in place.

To many people, the 22B is far more than just a car, it is an icon of the era. It’s not hard to see why when looking at one in the flesh. The presence a 22B has is unlike anything else, especially when it’s in such condition as this example.

A truly great example of this legendary model!

Interior & Trim

The interior is absolutely fantastic.

Likewise, the pedal rubbers, gear knob, steering wheel & ‘satin’ finish of the dashboard are all in great condition.

All seats are in tremendous condition, with all bolsters maintaining the original shape with no signs of wear.

Likewise, the door cards, centre console, trims & switchgear all present very well indeed.

This example really is a step above the usual ‘nice examples’.

A true step back to 1999 in the greatest of forms.

Engine

The 22B certainly needs no introduction, so we will not bore you with the factory figures or needless sales waffle.

What we will tell you is that this example presents very well as can be seen in the pictures, especially when considering this is an unrestored, original example.

The car runs perfectly, as you would expect.

The recent full service, including cambelt, plugs & gear oils ensure the car is ready to be driven & enjoyed.

Running Gear

As per the rest of the car, all running gear is original without modifications.

Running gear & the underbody of the car are in great original condition, showing almost all of the original factory QC & Stamp markings.

The original wheels are still in place, in good condition & are wearing original OE spec tyres.

On the road, the car performs great.
