PORSCHE 911 SC TARGA 1979

For Sale is my 1979 911SC Targa 'Sport' ITB in stunning Guards Red. After a long period of dry storage, a preventative top end engine rebuild was completed in 2023 by a previous owner. During my ownership the car has had no expense spared with an engine strip down and rolling road setup in 2024 (circa £7k). This work ensured a well tuned engine with all ancillary consumables replaced along the way. The standard 3. 0 engine was setup in 2024 by Westbound Restorations to run an injection ECU and ITB's, with the original functioning Bosch system kept with the car in case a future owner wanted to revert to MFI.

A corrosion free car due to its years of careful storage, with recently applied clear temporary lanoguard for added protection. Kidney bowls, sills and underside in very good condition. The interior is in excellent condition and a good history of paperwork and stamps confirms the current 118k miles, just shy of 100k taking place before 1998.

Sensible additions include a Blaupunkt SQM stereo with coaxial door speakers in original positions, battery isolator switch, and immobiliser fitted. Targa latches and keys replaced, along with a pedal box restoration with new bushings and shafts throughout. My car is sitting on all recent Michelin tyres with refurbished Fuchs wheels. With recent seals and window scrapers, wind noise is good along with a properly sealing targa top. A car with thorough mechanical improvements to be driven regularly and enjoyed with the reassurance of such extensive works.

Delivered on the 28th May 1979, The UK Dealer optioned 'Sport' guise means the car is fitted with the larger non rubber spoiler, front lip, sport seats and the Fuchs wheels. Currently fitted with a Dansk two port exhaust, the original system is included for a straightforward swap in future. Registered as a historic vehicle therefore Tax, ULEZ & MOT exempt - and a part of the Porsche classic register.
