Description
Originally exported to California in 1964 as a left-hand drive example, this Triumph TR4 returned to the UK in 2016 and has since undergone a comprehensive transformation. Between 2016 and 2021, the car was subject to a full chassis and body rebuild, with a professional conversion to right-hand drive.
From 2021 to 2024, the car was further developed with a full engine conversion, now powered by a 3.9-litre Rover V8 mated to a 5-speed Rover SD1 gearbox. The drivetrain is enhanced with a lightened flywheel, new clutch, bearing and slave cylinder, custom prop shaft (fully balanced), and a new Holley carburettor with matching inlet manifold. Exhaust gasses exit via Hugger header manifolds into a custom-fabricated stainless steel exhaust system, delivering an exhilarating soundtrack. To manage cooling, a TR6-spec 3-core alloy radiator has been fitted along with a slimline electric fan. The result is a strikingly reimagined TR4 that blends classic British styling with potent V8 performance. The car now rides on gloss black-painted wire wheels, offering a bold aesthetic to match its performance credentials.
Topping off the build is a Revington fibreglass black Surrey top with optional matching black vinyl soft top, keeping you dry in all eventualities. Inside, the cabin features sport bucket seats trimmed in black with white piping, blending comfort and style for both road and fast-road use.
An impressive and thoughtfully engineered TR4 that retains its vintage character while offering a transformed driving experience.
