1969 LAND ROVER LAND ROVER

Motodrome offer this charming 1969 example of the ever-popular Land Rover Series IIa, this one a late-period petrol wide-headlight model 88in hard top, finished in Marine Blue with Limestone roof.

A late Series IIa, so correctly fitted with the headlights moved into the front wings as per a Series III, and the maltese cross grille, but still with the characterful Series IIa metal dash.

Fitted with: the rare ‘catflap’ split tailgate arrangement, freewheel front hubs, wing mirrors, passenger sidestep, rear mudflaps,and towbar

Inside it has 3 seats across the front, a bench seat in the back, flat Smiths heater, and floor mats.

It’s fitted with a period-correct 241-prefix 2.25 engine (probably the original)

Odometer reading 87000m.

We know this example well, having sold it to the last owner in January 2022. He’s cared for it and used it sparingly since, but has carried out a fair amount of work on it, as follows:

- New exhaust system

- New battery

- New brake brake shoes, cylinders, master cylinder and some pipe work

- New fuel filler hose

- New starter solenoid

- New flasher unit

- New horn

- New fan belt

- Range of seals and hoses and gaskets

- New rear door flap hinges

Overall it’s an unusually straight Series IIa which, with it’s pleasing patinated paint, should tick a lot of boxes..
