Description

First-generation Dodge Viper RT/10 imported to the UK in 2005. Two previous owners, 24,200-miles and MOT until June 2026.
I’ve owned this brilliantly daft thing for just over three years now, and it looks even more outrageous on the road today than it did in the 90s. It’s recently had an oil and filter service completed along with MOT @ Welford Garage which is now valid until June 2026 with an advisory on the rear discs/pads.
This particular Viper is an early first-gen 1993 on an L-reg, finished in red with classic 3-spoke wheels and side-exit exhausts. It’s completely stock with the exception of a headunit and carbon dash trim; mechanically it wants for nothing and has been faultless over the last three years of ownership and several thousand miles.
Over that time, it’s also been featured several times in BBC Top Gear Magazine and also used within a Hemmings film on YouTube celebrating the Viper’s history and past. I have all of its past service history since it was imported in 2005 – along with MOTs and bill of sale from USA along with various other documents while it was in America. It also includes the original service book and owner’s manuals in Viper-specific binders as well as still being registered with the Viper Owners Club Of America.
Bad bits? There’s some age-related marks on the bodywork – a chip on the rear passenger arch, some bubbles under the lacquer on the bonnet and a scratch on the boot. The carbon trim surround on the interior is a little faded, however I have a new replacement which hasn’t been fitted yet. The headunit and speakers aren’t great – not that you can hear anything with the roof off – but it’s otherwise a very complete and honest car which can be made perfect with a bit of TLC and a good detail.
Original material roof is included, although this is quite fiddly and a bit useless in heavy rain. However, there’s also a proper fiberglass roof with plastic windows which provides much better weatherproofing as well as being nicer to drive by reducing wind noise. Finally, it also includes the slightly wacky tonneau cover which seems daft in the UK as it just pools the water in the middle.
It is a brilliantly bonkers thing and one of the few cars I’ve owned that I’ll genuinely miss having. Unfortunately, I just don’t have to the time to use it as much as I’d like to and ultimately it seems a shame to leave it parked up for periods of time when it could – and should – be enjoyed.
The private plate isn’t included in the price, but happy to do a deal if interested. Because nothing shouts anti-EV like an 8.0-litre, V10-powered Viper from the 90s.
