1991 Ferrari F40 *Classiche*
The Ferrari F40 was built from 1987 to 1992 to celebrate Ferrari’s 40th anniversary. It was designed with a single goal in mind: performance. Everything about it was stripped back and purpose-driven — no luxury features, no electronic driver aids, just a lightweight body, a powerful twin-turbo V8, and a raw, mechanical driving experience. The F40 was one of the first production cars to make extensive use of carbon fiber, Kevlar, and aluminum to keep weight down, coming in at just over 1,100 kg.
Its 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 makes around 478 horsepower, which in a car this light meant it could go from 0 to 60 mph in under 4 seconds and reach a top speed of over 200 mph — making it the fastest road car in the world when it launched. But the numbers only tell part of the story. The F40 is known for its aggressive, almost brutal delivery of power, especially once the turbos spool up. There’s no traction control, no ABS, and no power steering — so driving it demands real attention and skill.
The design is just as bold. With its low, wide stance, massive rear wing, and exposed carbon weave in the interior, it’s unmistakable. The cabin is barebones: no carpets, simple racing seats, and pull-strap doors — all to save weight. It was built to feel more like a race car than a road car, and that’s exactly what it delivered. Even today, the F40 is seen as one of the purest and most iconic supercars ever made.
