The E39 M5 launched in 1998 as BMW’s flagship performance saloon, introducing the legendary 4.9-litre naturally aspirated S62 V8 engine, producing 394 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. Power is delivered exclusively to the rear wheels via a slick 6-speed manual gearbox, with 0-60 mph reached in just 4.8 seconds. Even by modern standards, the M5's blend of power, balance, and analogue engagement makes for a thrilling drive.

The E39 M5 has earned cult status for its understated design, bulletproof engineering, and driving purity. The bespoke M details - quad tailpipes, lowered stance, enlarged intakes, and subtle badging-underscore its capability without being overt.

Supplied new by Godfrey Hall BMW, Shrewsbury in May 2001 and maintained to a high standard throughout its life, our car had its running in service at 1,134 miles and comes complete with a full documented service history, driver’s bookpack and full key set. The last service was carried out in April 2025. The interior remains beautifully preserved, with the two-tone leather and extended aluminium trim providing a refined, sporty ambiance.
