FERRARI F430 SPIDER F1
Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2005, the F430 Spider joined Maranello’s line-up shortly after the Berlinetta, offering all the dynamic brilliance of the coupé with the added drama of top-down motoring. Whilst its silhouette payed a respectful nod to the outgoing F360, over 70% of the car was new with a stiffer structure, a more advanced drivetrain and more purposeful styling thanks to Pininfarina’s sculpted lines and Enzo-inspired rear lights.
At its heart lay the all-new, dry-sumped F136 4.3-litre quad-cam V8, producing 483bhp and revving beyond 8,500rpm. Chain-driven camshafts replaced belts, dramatically reducing long term maintenance, while Enzo-derived variable valve timing made it one of the most sophisticated engines Ferrari had ever built. Paired here with the F1 electro-hydraulic gearbox, the result is a 0–62mph time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed just shy of 200mph.
Handling was similarly advanced thanks to the E-Diff active differential and Manettino driver selector, allowing for real time adjustment of shift speed, throttle mapping, damping and traction systems, technology that made the F430 more forgiving and more capable than the 360 it replaced.
This UK-supplied, right-hand drive F430 F1 Spider was ordered new in 2008 by its sole private keeper as a chariot to take them to and from the local golf club and remained in his care until his recent passing. It has covered a mere 956 miles from new, making it one of the lowest mileage F430 Spiders in existence as far as we know. Superbly finished in timeless Rosso Corsa over Crema leather, it remains factory-correct and unmodified.
What truly sets this car apart is the extraordinary level of expert recommissioning it has recently received. Between the years of 2009-2014 the car was put into storage and again from 2018-2023. Again, despite the minimal mileage, more than £30,000 has been invested in returning the car to full mechanical and cosmetic excellence, undertaken by Ferrari marque specialists AV Engineering, fully detailed in the accompanying invoices and photographs.
This comprehensive programme included:
Labour for the recommissioning accounted for approximately £6,000, with parts and specialist work bringing the total to around £31,000.
In addition to the recommissioning work, the car also boasts an exemplary service history despite the ultra-low mileage:
With a plethora of desirable factory options, the car is accompanied by its original book pack and toolkit.
Offered now in outstanding condition with unrepeatable mileage, single ownership from new, top-tier specialist care and an unrivalled level of detail in recommissioning, this F430 Spider presents a rare opportunity to acquire one of the finest and most complete examples of the model anywhere in the world.
