1965 TRIUMPH TR4

Service History

Originally supplied to the United States in left-hand drive configuration, this 1965 Triumph TR4A was imported and UK-registered in 1990. Since then, it has undergone a meticulous nut-and-bolt restoration, including a full professional conversion to right-hand drive. Presented in its correct and elegant shade of Wedgewood Blue, this car is a superbly detailed and thoughtfully upgraded example of the beloved British sports car.

Unlike the later IRS-equipped variants, this example retains its original live rear axle setup, valued for its simplicity and robustness. It is equipped with a Revington fibreglass Surrey top, paired with a matching vinyl soft top for versatility in all conditions. Chrome wire wheels complete the period-correct appearance.

The interior is beautifully trimmed in dark blue with high-back seats featuring headrests, complemented by matching carpets and a walnut veneer dashboard. Mechanically, the car has been upgraded for both reliability and performance. The 2.1-litre inline-four is fed by twin 175 CD Stromberg carburettors and is supported by a spin-on oil filter conversion, electronic Facet fuel pump, oil cooler, and dual circuit braking system. A desirable overdrive is fitted, operating on 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears, offering relaxed cruising and improved drivability.
