This Silver Lady has to been seen to be believed!
The Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn was unveiled to the public at the Toronto International World’s Fair in 1949 but it wasn’t until 1953 that it became available on the home market. During its life these cars were highly regarded in the show business circles. Richard Dimbleby owned one, as did Dirk Bogarde, Gregory Peck, Max Bygraves and George Formby to name a few. Only around 760 Silver Dawn’s were produced, making the model quite rare, especially in pristine condition.
This particular example was sold to a Mr Ernest Engel in London in 1954. Its elegant exterior lines are enhanced by the black over shell grey colour scheme whilst the interior is trimmed in blue-grey hide with matching carpets. The internal veneers are superb, including the folding picnic tables housed in the back of the front seats. The car came from the factory with an automatic gearbox and sunshine roof.
The vehicle underwent a restoration in 1988 which was carried out by marque specialist P.J. Fischer. This vehicle comes with extensive files containing invoices, photographs and documentation following the car over the years. You really will not find another one like this so please contact us today!
