1986 MINI MAYFAIR

Finished in a beautiful shade of Blue called Supersonic Blue this colour suits the Mini like it could have been painted from new. The build of this car would be better termed as a 'Resto-mod' with every aspect being overhauled and improved to make a Mini that could be bought new today. She started out life as a red 998 Automatic and in 2023 the team at Iconic Motorsport and Scott Kendal took on the project to make her better than ever. Car was stripped to shell and new floors rear quarters front wings, inner wings, A panels, front panel, door skin were all replaced, then fettled within an inch of its life. Underside rapter coated then 2pack paint was applied in its Supersonic Blue which happens to be a Snap On toolbox colour. After this a low mileage 1300+ engine was sourced and sent it to Southam Mini/Metro centre where it was stripped bored out to 1380cc, block was then bead blasted and then rebuilt along with new pistons, ground crankshaft, Swiftune Camshaft and MED lightened flywheel. The gearbox was also refreshed then painted black. Once dyno'd the car made a superb 98bhp. The car benefits from having had all brand new glass and rubbers, as well as central locking and electric windows, a Scorpion alarm with immobiliser controlling the central locking. New Corbeau seats and mountings with new Sparco 4 point harness, OMP steering wheel and a BG quick release mount. All new lock set has been stripped and colour coded along with light surrounds, bumpers and a new grille shipped in from Italy costing over £1000 alone. A Safety Devices roll cage keeps it all taught whilst all new high quality carpet set,black headlining, new door cards and dash recover give car a luxurious interior. The suspension has been entirely overhauled too and replaced with new Gaz Gold shocks new discs, callipers, race pads and new rear brake set up. To complete the overall look of the car it has a set of 12" Ultralite minilite alloys wrapped with Yokohama A539 which look perfect for her. There are likely lots of details that have been missed but this is one of the finest mini restorations you will see, and no stone has been left unturned. The condition is better than new.
