2018 MEV Exocet Turbo

The time has come to sell my Turbo Exocet - I have really enjoyed building and improving it, but with family and work commitments it just isn’t getting the use it deserves - I had previously put it up for sale a couple of years ago, but now I need to move on to the next project.

Built and IVA’d in 2018 it has done less than 3000 miles since. The car has the pre g-type, single piece nose bodywork and has the optional colour-matched MEV GRP side panels.

The car was built from a late NA MX5 which had been owned by a friend’s mother from new and was mechanically excellent. The build of this has been very much to ensure that it has all the “right” bits without scrimping, and so it has the following spec:

1.8 MX5 NA mechanicals - all subframes and suspension components blasted and powder coated.

TD04 turbo kit consisting of G19 manifold & downpipe, rebuilt TD04-13t turbo, ME221 gen 2 ECU, ME/G19 plumbing and boost control, large front mount intercooler with 3” pipe work, AEM Wideband lambda and gauge.

Skid Nation coolant re-route kit

Cambelt, water pump and front main seal replaced March 2025 (only 200 miles ago).

2.5” stainless cat back exhaust with custom rear section

G19 performance paddle clutch

Torsen Type 2 (4:1) limited slip diff

Gaz Gold pro coilovers with G19 top mount spacers (fitted just 2 weeks ago), all bushes replaced with quality Energy Suspension polybushes

Team Dynamics Pro-Race 1.2 7x15 wheels with federal 595 RS-R trackday tyres

New brake calipers all round, HEL braided flexible lines and Roddisons Motorsport pads

MEV GRP lightweight seats with Willans 4-point harnesses

Private plate - G8 EXO included with sale

The car is currently conservatively (professionally) mapped to 216BHP at just 9psi of boost - this could be increased further by pushing more boost if desired, but it is plenty quick enough and retains a safety margin to protect the engine and drivetrain.

The car will come with MOT until 18th April 2026 (which was a clean pass after replacing the cat) and ready for a new owner.
