1973 Jaguar E Type Series 3 V12 Roadster
An original right hand drive UK supplied manual gearbox roadster finished in special factory order black with black leather interior. A stunning car that has covered just 37,000 miles from new and in superb order having been restored to the highest standards between 2010 and 2014.
The Jaguar was supplied when new by Jaguar main dealer Elmbridge Motors in Surrey to a local customer on the 17 January 1973. The Jaguar Heritage Production Certificate on file confirms this along with the originally supplied registration number, OYY 35L that remains on the car.
A number of invoices on file stretching back into the late 1979’s confirms that the car was well maintained and it evidently remained this way until 2010 when it was offered for sale by Jaguar specialist Twyford Moors as a good example.
At this point the car was fortuitously purchased following an inspection as detailed on file by the last owner, a regular Hairpin customer with the highest standards and owner of a wonderful collection of exceptional cars. This E Type typifies his attention to detail and project management. Following purchase, the car was despatched to specialists Castle Classics in Hampshire who spent the next four years perfecting it. Copious invoicing on file details the work completed but essentially the car was fully stripped with every component being refurbished or replaced as required. For example, the body shell was fully stripped and refinished as illustrated in photographs on file, the engine was rebuilt by VSE Engineering, the gearbox replaced with the acknowledged best 5 speed manual gearbox by E Type Fabs Ltd, an interior retrim by Suffolk and Turley, even the original Radiomobile radio was fully refurbished and modified with iPhone compatibility.
Since completion the E Type has been used minimally on dry summer days and has continued to be maintained as required by Castle Classics, again this work is detailed on file. Consequently, the E Type remains in superb, unmarked order in all respects, and it drives exceptionally well with a fluency and smoothness lacking in most examples.
