The McLaren Senna is an uncompromising hypercar built for pure track dominance while remaining road-legal.

Unveiled in 2018 as part of McLaren’s Ultimate Series, it was named in honour of Ayrton Senna, the legendary Formula 1 driver. With a singular focus on aerodynamics, power, and weight reduction, the Senna is one of the most extreme performance cars ever produced. Limited to just 500 units, it quickly became a car collector must have.

With the Senna form follows function and the outrageous aerodynamics determine the way it looks. Producing an incredible 800kg of downforce (40% more than the P1) at 155 mph thanks to active aero input from the huge rear wing that also acts as an airbrake and part of a drag reduction system, the single piece double diffuser, low front splitter and huge front intakes with active flaps and winglets that channel air to various areas of the car.

Weighing just 1,198kg, the Senna’s bodywork is made exclusively from Carbon Fibre and built around McLaren’s stiffest Carbon Fibre tub the Monocage III. Unlike its hybrid predecessor, the McLaren P1, the Senna forgoes electrification in favour of a lighter and more responsive setup, making it McLaren’s most track-focused road car to date.

With McLaren’s 4-Litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing 789 bhp, the Senna’s performance figures are astonishing achieving 0-62mph in 2.8 seconds, 0-124 mph in 6.8 seconds and a top speed of 211 mph.

Inside, the Senna is stripped down to the essentials, emphasising function over luxury. The cabin is built around the carbon fibre monocoque, with exposed carbon panels and minimal padding to save weight. The racing-inspired bucket seats are ultra-light, and the centre-mounted infotainment screen provides access to McLaren’s advanced telemetry system.

The Senna is a no compromise hypercar built for one purpose: to dominate the track.
