Caterham 40th Anniversary Roadsport 135

This Roadsport 135 is one the 40th Anniversary Limited Editions. Number 4 of 40, this is a well preserved classic of the Caterham range, which celebrated four decateds of the magnificent Seven.

The 40th Anniversary package comprised of the unique colour scheme, a leather shod dashboard and the 40th Anniversary numbered plaque. This package was available only during the year of 1997 and only for the first 40 customers. The specification of car was open to the purchasers choice, allowing for a veriety of different models to exists in todays second-hand market.

The original purchaser of this Roadsport specified it with all of the traditional touring options. Comfortable leather seats, soft suspension, a heater for warmth and a spare wheel on the back. Though they clearley didnt intend for this car to be just a casual touring maching. Under the bonnet, they specified the energitc 1.6L Supersport engine, pulling all the way to 7,200rpm to produce 135bhp. This spritley power was then to be transmitted through a close ratio 6 speed gearbox, ensuring the engine could be kept in it’s optimal power range.

This combination of engine and gearbox became one of the most idolised in Caterhams history and would soon become famous with the original Caterham Suerlight.

This then, is a Classic before a legend. Rare and collectable, whilst famously fun driving machine.

With just 32,000 miles on the clock in 28 years on the road, this Roadsport is in lovely condition. It is also eligable to be exported around the world as a “Classic Car”, making it very attractive to customers from Europe and further afield.
