EXTERIOR

Specified in a glorious coat of Grigio Ferro metallic with a stunning Oro / Nero stripe running down the centre alongside airbrushed Scuderia Logo, this Pista Spider looks sensational and every bit the part of its near £20k optional paint request when new. With such an investment it has been further enhanced with professional paint detailing and correction before being wisely protected by a full coat of paint protection film at a cost of over £7k.

Despite having the retractable hard-top roof the Spider, just like the coupe, demands to be driven in order for its full potential to be experienced and appreciated. Evidence of the innovation put into the Pista Spider becomes apparent with aerodynamic efficiency being improved by 20% over the 488 Spider. This allows for much better airflow over the car by reducing air resistance and increasing downforce via the ‘S-Duct’, seamlessly carved into the bonnet. Ferrari have created a convertible supercar honed for the road with everyday usability and racetrack if the need occurs, demonstrating the very best in Italian pedigree.

Optional carbon additions on this race car for the road make up over 25k of the options list and not only add to the beauty but further the lightweight tech used on this incredible range topping machine.

INTERIOR

Presented in excellent order this cabin is finished in an incredible Cioccolato Alcantara. Nero stitching adds contrast, alongside the wonderfully supportive Daytona style seats, while the the interior design and finish faultlessly treads the line between classic luxury and a track focused space. An integrated audio system with Bluetooth and reversing camera, as well as front axle lift, ensures the car is as suited to daily duties as well as track or B road blasts.

Two screens on the dash display live running characteristics, the familiar ‘manettino’ with traction, gearbox and engine map settings along with the extended carbon stalk that house auto, reverse and maximum attack launch mode make for a space odyssey-like setup. A stunning place to be, truly complimentary of the exterior, and an event in itself once installed in the driver’s seat even with the engine off!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

The power numbers are breathtaking on the Pista Spider and with the addition of turbochargers and as such low down torque its provided Ferrari’s mid engine supercar with thrust that it’s never been able to experience from previous naturally aspirated engines. Crackling loudly into life, those unaware will jump at the sound – a sharp cacophony of unmistakable gruff V8 mixed with turbo whistle that settles immediately into a purposeful idle.

The 7 speed dual clutch transmission is stunningly fast defining the realms of what’s possible in gear change speed with an almost continuous push of acceleration.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES

The 20″ Forged Pista wheels are finished in optional Gold with the addition of carbon fibre caps set in the centres. The wheels are unmarked and wrapped in only the best premium Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2’s.

A huge set of Ceramic discs show through the fine spoke alloys, as do the Nero Daytona painted callipers which round up the fantastic colour-way of this Pista Spider.
