1935 Morris Eight Hot Rod

This 1935 Morris Eight was converted into a custom hot rod in the 1970s. The original owner fitted the car with a 327 small block Chevy V8 engine, which was balanced and blueprinted (tuned) to a racing spec.

The vehicle was purchased by my father circa 2012, until it unfortunately suffered an engine fire. The restoration had started before the car was placed into storage for over a decade.

I inherited the vehicle just over a year ago, which prompted me to have it professionally restored. The engine, mechanics and electrics have been fully refurbished by a specialist in custom cars. Full details and photographs can be supplied upon request.

Although the car is mechanically sound and runs perfectly, the aesthetics need some attention. There's some visible rust on the bodywork in places where the paint has chipped, and there's a crack in the rear windscreen. The hood was primed but left unfinished, as the care was originally due for a re-spray

The decision was taken to not have the car painted, as this gives a future owner the opportunity to choose their own colour.

The gearbox is a five speed manual, making this car perfect for drag racing.

The vehicle is currently located in Suffolk.
