PORSCHE 993

This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Sale at Supercar Fest 2025 on Saturday the 17th of May, Sywell Aerodrome, Sywell, Northampton, NN6 0BN.

The 993 Turbo, introduced in mid-1995, retained a tight hold on the torch of the most powerful 911 variant whilst continuing the general developments and improvements to the breed as a whole. Amongst the new features was an electronically controlled viscous coupling all-wheel drive system, something Porsche had not offered on a turbocharged model since the 959 and a system that greatly improved the car's usability. Under the engine lid, now topped with a sculpted spoiler tail with downturned edges, resided the 3.6-litre flat-six fed by twin K16 turbos. Combined with bigger brakes, fatter tires, a wide body and a lower stance, the 993 Turbo had evolved into one of the fastest cars on the planet. With all four wheels helping to evenly distribute over 400bhp, 0-60mph was dispatched in a staggering 3.7 seconds, 100mph whistled by in 5.7 seconds and the linear forward thrust continued until the speedometer needle had said goodbye to 180mph and you were on conversational terms with the horizon.

Initially registered on 27th May 1997 to Porsche Zentrum Darmstadt, the 911 (993) Turbo on offer here is a home-market (C00), left-hand drive car originally finished in Speed Yellow (L12G). It was optioned from new with Sport seats, rear seatbelts, rear wiper, cruise-control, spoilers, Bilstein shock absorbers, sound package, two speakers on rear shelf, a Targa sliding roof and velour carpet in the boot.

The reassuringly endorsed service records (11 stamps) show two services in Germany prior to the car arriving in the UK and being serviced by Charles Ivey on 3rd January 2002 at 20,665km (12,840 miles). The following service was carried out by Chelsea Carrera Ltd on 12th October 2004 at an indicated 3,686 miles with the speedometer having been changed from kph to mph prior to this. The current indicated mileage is 7,732 meaning the Porsche has covered less than 21,000 miles from new.

Our vendor purchased the Turbo in January 2021 at 6,529 miles with the intention of adding it to his world-class Porsche Collection but in order to bring it up to his high standards it was entrusted to Porsche Central Operations in Reading to be stripped to bare metal and repainted its original Speed Yellow. With additional works, a total of  £15,052 was invested and there are invoices dated 29th March 2021 in the file detailing this expenditure. The file also contains an invoice (£2,338) for a minor service and the fitting of a customer-supplied Porsche Stereo by Porsche Torque on 19th August 2024.

With its original black leather interior, this superb Type 993 Turbo is totally standard, apart from the aforementioned stereo and is in excellent condition. 993 Porsches are the new must have and you will be hard pushed to find a better car.
