Description

Here for sale is my 1995 Volvo 850 T-5R. It is a factory manual finished in the peculiar cream yellow (Gul).
A marmite colour for sure! I have owned this car now for 2 and a half years and has been an absolute
pleasure. Bought it at 19 years old as it has always been a dream of mine to own a manual gul T5R.
I have a binder full of paperwork that’ll come with the car from myself and previous owners. Contains
anything from service/MOT history, Invoices and a cool press release spec sheet.
This T-5R has done 135k miles. This may increase due to possibly needing the car if the weather isn’t
motorbike friendly!
Important info: -
2 Keys
- V5 Ready
- MOT Until 01-11-2025
- Serviced last june
- 6 owners
It has been modified by previous owners. These are as follows:
- Snabb Short throw shifter kit
- Snabb intake pipe
- K&N Air filter for OEM airbox
- Japanifold
- DO88 Radiator
- DO88 Intercooler
- DO88 RIP Kit
- 18T Turbo
- 850R “White” Injectors
- 850R clutch
- Jetex Catback (Not loud, See video)
- Aluminium subframe mounts
- M4.4 Ecu conversion
- 302mm Brake upgrade
- Eibach Lowering springs - Koni Shocks
- Poly Gearbox mount
I may have missed something, but this is what I can remember from both paperwork and info from previous
owners.
It has been dyno’d to 293.2hp 469Nm. Certainly surprises people out on the road! But also has
decent fuel economy for a 90s sports saloon. But that’s not what you're interested in is it?! ;)
Now with all old cars, there's the negatives. More niggly bits than anything but these are as follows:
- Noisy power steering pump. Pump has always been a tad noisy in my ownership. I have bled the
system of which does help however the noise does decide to come back after a week or so. All
connections on the pump and rack are tight so possibly a pump issue. I have a video on this if you
would like to see. Hasn’t caused me any issues in regards to steering. Just a noisy pump . -
Headliner has started to droop at the front of the car.
- Curb rash to the nearside front wheel courtesy of a Citroen C1 driver last week. How kind of them!
Overall, this car has been an absolute pleasure of owning and is Definitely going to be hard to let go of.
I have taking it to many shows and events over these 2 and a half years. All the way to Yorkshire and back
for
Volvo600, super touring power at brands alongside being invited by MSV to display it at BTCC Final round
at brands hatch. But with the ridiculous and never-ending price increase of the second hand JDM market it’s
now or never that I part ways with the GUL and buy my dream JDM car.
- It was a reported as a CAT D (now known as a Cat N) back in 2009. Did not know this when I bought it but
did a carVertical check and it flagged up. Wouldn’t know it was a CatN looking at it.
Open to sensible offers.
Thank you very much for reading and any further questions or info you would like please don’t hesitate to
ask.
