EXTERIOR

A firm favourite amongst enthusiasts, the E46 generation is widely regarded as one of the best-driving M3s. With perfect proportions and a unique soundtrack from its S54 straight-six, these cars are ageing very well indeed. This particular example is a desirable non-sunroof coupe that further benefits from attractive 19-inch CSL-style wheels. The Carbon Black paintwork is very presentable with a few minor imperfections evidencing the car’s honesty, but there are no scuffs or scrapes to the body and the arches are free from blistering. The wheels are shod in matching Michelin tyres all dated 2021, and apart from some marking on the nearside front wheel the condition of the alloys is excellent.

INTERIOR

The black Nappa leather remains in superb condition. The upholstery has a great finish and feel with no notable wear or shine to report. In line with the low mileage the driver’s bolster is very well presented and the centre armrest is unmarked. Other commonly worn areas such as the centre console, ash tray lid, and switchgear are all first-rate, and even the sat nav screen is immaculate with no scratches or pixel issues. The multifunction M steering wheel is still trimmed in its original leather with a perfect shine-free texture, and in the footwells are the original BMW overmats also in fine order. Some nice factory options include the Harman/Kardon sound system, electric-folding door mirrors, electric lumber support, professional satnav, and the front central armrest.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Barely run-in with just under 47k miles on the clock the M3 performs very well on test. The car has only ever been maintained by BMW main dealers and one highly regarded marque specialist, so it feels as tight as a drum to drive. The engine bay is clean and tidy, and the last service was an Inspection I carried out in October 2024. The underside of the car was also checked and was found to be in good solid condition with no issues or cracks to report around the boot floor/subframe area.

HISTORY FILE

Unlike many E46 M3s that have accumulated 10+ owners over the years, this lovely 2005 car has had only 3. Better still, the maintenance book is filled solely with BMW main dealer and specialist service stamps. Up until 2020 it was looked after by the supplying dealer, Chandlers Brighton, and quite remarkably the original bill of sale (for £47,977.99) is still on file. All the original handbooks and invoices are included in the paperwork along with a spare remote key and the V5C showing just 2 former keepers. The service book is stamped with the following entries:
