1976 MG Midget 1500

“P” registration. MOT until February 2026, no advisories, although the car is now MOT exempt. Tax exempt. Owned since 1993, I bought it as a restoration project. Comprehensive body and mechanical restoration in late 90s and 2000s by me. Restoration included chrome bumper conversion.

Selling due to lack of use. Private sale. Car is located in Littleborough OL15 area.

Currently showing 10,000 miles, but has had replacement used speedo. Old documentation prior to restoration indicates it had done about 69k miles. The car has done less than 5000 miles since the restoration completed about 15 years ago.

Runs and drives as it should, starts first time hot or cold. Always garaged, never used in the rain or winter. Hood in excellent condition. Body is rust free and waxoyled. I spent a lot of time fettling panel fit which is as good as you will see on any BL car!

Various upgrades as part of the restoration and afterwards including:

- electronic ignition

- Braided brake hoses and cupronickel bake pipes

- Vacuum brake servo

- Frontline adjustable telescopic shock conversion

- Stainless steel exhaust

- Mini lite wheels (Yokohama Tyres)

- Electric engine cooling fan

- Halogen headlights

- Bluetooth stereo

The only negative is that I have never been 100% happy with the paintwork that was done for the restoration. It was the only thing I didn’t do myself and has some cosmetic blemishes on close inspection. The paintwork is solid and rust free and looks good to the bystander, but it wouldn’t win a concourse trophy.
