Description
Stratton Motor Company are delighted to add this very rare and much acclaimed 2009 Morgan Aeromax to our Morgan inventory.
Initially presented at the 2005 Geneva Motorshow as a bespoke car built for a well respected Morgan customer Prince Eric Sturdza of Geneva, the AeroMax was the next development of the Aero chassis. The car is named after Charles Morgan’s son Max. Due to the level of interest at the show and with the agreement of Prince Sturdza, a limited production run of 100 cars in celebration of Morgan’s centenary was agreed. Production was started in 2008 and completed in 2009.
The iconic design was created by Matt Humphries, a 21 year old Coventry University Graduate working at the factory. The Empire Line or Art Deco influenced styling has often been compared to cars such as classic Bugatti’s whilst retaining a clear family relationship with Morgan’s other cars. It featured an arched roof line swept toward the back of the vehicle. The rear split window resembled some of the Talbot and Bugatti’s from the 30s, and it gave the car a distinct personality. At the back, the taillights were carried over from Lancia Thesis and combined together gives the overall ‘Boat Tail’ posterior with a ‘letterbox’ windscreen.
This model is finished in unmarked Mercury Silver metallic and the interior is trimmed with a beautiful Antique Chestnut Brown leather complemented with real wood veneer door cappings and further enhanced with a ‘Centenary’ drilled dashboard and a ‘Becker Mexico’ car radio which looks classical but includes Navigation and Bluetooth connectivity. Fitted with a Motolita Steering Wheel trimmed in matching leather. Cobra Trak5 Security is also fitted.
Power comes from the BMW 4.8 litre V8 engine producing some 362bhp fed through a 6 speed ZF automatic gearbox and with the kerb weight just over 1200kgs gives a 0-60mph of just 4.4 seconds and topping out at 170mph.
The colour and stance of this car certainly makes a statement and is car number 94 of 100 built and believed to be one of only 20 right hand drive versions built. With just 15,000 miles from new and a complete Morgan Servicing history this is a car for the discerning enthusiast and has some further history with an appearance in the November 2017 edition of Classic and Sports Car along with the 2018 Classic and Sports Car calendar.
Just serviced by Morgan works at the Malvern headquarters so it is ready to go for the summer. It will come with a new MOT and a comprehensive 12 months parts and labour warranty including RAC Roadside assistance and recovery for your peace of mind.
