1998 ALFA ROMEO GTV

Exterior

This low mileage GTV presents well in one of the best colours, Proteo Red. Having just received a full polish the paint throughout is good with no major blemishes. Looking along both sides the panels are straight and true. High quality unrestored examples like this do not come around often, and unlike many this one has never been ‘updated’. Factory 15-inch wheels with original centre caps and good tyres all round.

Interior

Much like the exterior, the inside is very good with no signs of any major wear. Both Momo front sports seats remain in fantastic condition, the driver’s bolster is very good and the leather is supple and smooth. There are no cracks on the dash and the switchgear is unmarked; the original leather steering wheel is in great condition with the gear knob showing some wear. A fully functional OEM cassette radio with RDS is fitted. Carpets are good with minimal wear having been protected by mats from new. The rear seats are unmarked. One of the door speaker tweeters has fallen into the door, but the cover is with the car. Everything else inside is good and fully working.

Inside the boot, the carpet is very clean and the original spare wheel and cover are present and coreect.

MECHANICAL

Well presented engine bay and no signs of accident damage or previous poor repair.

The clutch and gearshift are smooth. The twin spark engine sounds lovely with a nice metallic bark.

The car is complemented by a good service history that’s primarily stamped in the original service book.

In April 2024 the GTV was sent to Turin Motors in Leeds for a pre sale vehicle health check and pre MOT inspection.

The exhaust system was replaced with a full OEM spec stainless system along with a full service and MOT.

Since then the clutch slave cylinder has been replaced and the car has covered approx. 1000 miles of trouble free motoring.

History File

In the hands of 3 registered keepers it has driven only 62k miles. The original service book is present along with all other handbooks.

The cambelt was replaced at 48604 miles.

I bought the Alfa in April 2024 from a work colleague who had owned it from 2017. He has a large classic collection and only used it very little in that time.

I've driven it every week but I have come to the conclusion that I'm too tall to comfortably fit into it hence the sale.

Prior to purchasing the car was inspected by Turin Motors and given a clean bill of health other than the exhaust which needed a centre section replacement. We decided to replace the whole exhaust at that time.

The Alfa drives really well and has just passed an MOT first time in April 2024.
