C20LET Powered Dax Rush

This advert is for my C20LET powered Dax Rush which has been in my ownership for 10 years. The car has evolved over time into what is now a properly engineered and extremely fast vehicle in outstanding condition. It must surely be one of the fastest “Lotus 7” style cars out there as the engine has been extensively modified. Engine power levels can be switched between a low boost setting of circa 300bhp/280ftlb or a high boost setting of 400bhp/355lbft. The rest of the car has been modified to ensure that it can cope with the power and also stop just as fast if needed. Weight is circa 750kg.
This is essentially of a bit of a “Hot-Rod” in the context of lightweight Seven type cars but is absolutely laugh-out-loud fun and turns a lot of heads. You could say, why spend lots of time/effort and money to make a normal car lighter in order to go fast, when actually you could just start with a light car in the first place and then just add power, which is essentially what we have here. In this regard it is devastatingly quick and should therefore be treated with the utmost of respect. Ultimately it will only go as fast as you want it too, so you can easily cruise around on a summer day with no need to use anywhere near what it has on offer and just enjoy the overall experience.
It is perfectly suited to satisfy many use-case scenarios such as attending car shows and events as its condition is exceptional, or if you want a real adrenalin rush, you can delve into the underlying power that the turbocharged engine offers. I have used and enjoyed this car for many shows and events over the years including trips to Le Mans so as you can see it is quite happy on both long or short journeys. The car has not been on a race track as the exhaust is loud, especially when on-boost, so would likely fail many circuit noise tests.
The car is registered new as January 1981 on the log book and therefore it falls into the historic tax class so UK road tax is zero. Insurance is also fairly cheap with everything declared.
It comes with a large stack of paperwork, history, user guides, wiring diagrams and manuals. Has two keys and a battery cut off switch and also some spare service items.
This really is a unique opportunity for someone to obtain a really great car, you realistically couldn’t build this car for anywhere near the asking price. Happy to discuss all the associated details along with the cars history with any perspective new owner.
A very reluctant sale, and genuine enquiries only please.
