Using the same 1,781cc engine as the GTi, although fitted with a single carburettor, the 90bhp Clipper was considerably cheaper and equally stylish

This example was purchased in 1989 from Scotts of Sloane Square, a VW dealership famous for providing many a 'Sloane Ranger' with a new Golf
