Dacia Sandero Stepway 1.0 TCe Extreme 5dr Petrol Hatchback

While the standard Sandero is the embodiment of Dacias bargain brand ethos the Sandero version offers a little more in the way of style and substance thanks to its chunkier crossover looks and some feelgood garnish for the fixtures and fittings. Its a little more expensive as a result, though still very affordable compared with rivals. A recent update has added Dacias new logo and corporate look to the grille, introduced some fashionably earthy colours and aligned the Stepways looks with the Jogger and Duster but, other than that, its business as usual. The fact its based on more modern foundations than the previous Stepway means Dacia can include a lot more of the safety tech modern drivers expect, the extra cost over the Sandero offset by the more generous range of assistance systems. Even the most basic version gets automated emergency braking if you fail to respond to hazards in your path, airbags front and rear, two Isofix child seat mounts in the back, hill start assistance and an emergency E-call system. Cruise control and a speed limiter are also standard, as are reversing sensors a step up from the regular Sandero. The top level Stepway is also the only Sandero model with blind-spot warnings, which is one of the more useful modern driver assistance systems and a welcome feature.
