JAGUAR S-TYPE (X202) V8 R 2002
Jaguar S Type R 2002 with 4.2 supercharged 32 valve V8 producing 400bhp, this is enough to accelerate to 60 in 5.3 seconds and on to a limited 155 top speed, allegedly if the limiter is removed it will do 175, so even today, it’s still a fast car. When it was launched this was enough to make it the fastest production saloon in the world and a serious competitor for the Mercedes E55 AMG and BMW M5. The performance is complimented by excellent ride and handling in part due to the adjustable CATS (Computer Active Technology Suspension) dampers. It has a smooth 6 speed ZF auto, electronic traction control and big Brembo brakes which make it easy to use the huge performance. It can play the role of both effortless luxury saloon and high performance grand tourer superbly.
Great colour combination of British racing green with and the rare ivory leather and maple wood which transforms the interior from the more common black. Being an early car it has the better looking pre update instrument panel (no plastic bezels) and qualifies for the lower £430 vehicle tax (late cars being £760).
Luxury specification including 16 way electrically adjustable, heated sports seats in leather with embossed ‘R’ logo (drivers with memory). Electrically adjustable pedals and steering column. Dual zone climate control, cruise control, auto dipping rear view mirror, sat nav. Self adjusting Xenon headlights, rear parking sensors and heated front and rear screens.
Increasingly rare car with only c500 left on the road. The car is completely original apart from Adamesh exhaust back boxes which add emphasis to the fantastic exhaust note without being excessively loud, but if they’re not to your taste the car comes with the original back boxes.
The car has covered 121,000 miles and has a full service history, 20 stamps in the book, nearly all Jaguar or independent specialists. I have owned the car for almost 5 years and had servicing done by Swallows Racing, the leading independent Jaguar specialist in the South West. I have spent over £11,000 maintaining and improving the car over my ownership and I have bills totalling c£10,000 from some of the previous owners so this car has always been very well looked after.
The gearbox has been serviced twice at 64,000 and 107,000 miles, when the diff oil was changed as well.

22 Mar 2012 64,000 Torque converter and throttle body

The paint work is very good all round, the front was repainted in May 2021 to eliminate the road rash and a parking scratch, so there are only a few minor stone chips and age related marks. Scratch on rear bumper and minor corrosion on the inside of the boot lid were fixed at the same time. Interior is in excellent condition with very little wear to the drivers seat and bolster.
Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres fitted all round and 4 wheel alignment carried out by Swallows. MoT to March 2026, no advisories. First registered 14 Oct 2022 and 3 previous owners.
Comes with book pack, 2 keys and an extensive history file.
I’m selling as I have a number of cars on my bucket list and as I’m not getting any younger I need to start making my way through them.
