This bus was imported from California in 2017 and formed the ideal basis for restoration having only been subjected to a hot and dry climate over the previous 4 decades.

Restoration

The bus has undergone a comprehensive and detailed restoration by VW camper van specialists.

The quality of the work has been completed to a very high standard and that comes from people who look at classic vehicles with a critical eye, having done this our entire lives.

The shell of the bus was stripped right back, soda blasted, etch primed and carefully prepared and painted in this beautiful sunflower yellow / champagne colour scheme. I have to say this is the most beautiful shade of yellow we have ever seen. It almost yells out ‘take me to the beach or out for a picnic’ when you look at it!

Refurbished original wheels, polished hub caps and brand new white wall tyres fitted (March 2025). Bumpers and wheels painted in Lotus White to compliment the stunning coachwork. Pop Top roof stripped, restored and also painted to match. New roof canvas with zip opening mesh inserts, all new roof seals installed at the same time. No expense spared.

Mechanical & Electrical

The 1600cc engine was fully rebuilt and the mechanics were overhauled at the same time. The bus has been checked over and the underside presents well as you would expect from a dry state import.

New wiring loom and fuse box.

The bus has always been garaged without fail and the previous owners even modified their garage specifically for Sofia to live in. This bus has been loved and cared.

Really pleasant interior featuring a ¾ width rock n’ roll bed. This acts as a 3 person forward facing seat and folds down into a large double bed. There is an additional buddy seat opposite with storage space underneath. This means you can all sit around the stowaway pedestal centre table!

There is side facing cabinetry offering plenty of storage as well as a sink / two hob gas burner and a 12v fridge / freezer. Everything you need and more for a short of long camping trip!

The bus is technically a 4-berth model, although I would suggest putting an awning up if you want a bit of personal space. The good news is this isn’t an extra that you will have to buy as included in the sale is an Olpro Cubo Breeze V2 Campervan Awning costing £425, that has only been used twice.

Fully reupholstered throughout including all seats and door cards in Champagne vinyl, a perfect complement to the pastel yellow colour scheme. Curtains throughout.

The pop top roof has its own lifting double bunk bed which is ideal for children or alternatively a very useful space to store bulky items and free up the main living area whilst camping.

The bus has front seat belts and rears could also be installed if required upon request.
