History

From its inception, the 2004 Maserati 4200 Coupe has been a symbol of refined engineering & striking design.

Cared for by its original owner , the legendary drummer of the Rolling Stones – Charlie Watts. It’s very low mileage & condition reflect a legacy of care & exclusivity.

Delivered on 01/10/2004 by Carrs Maserati of Exeter, this Maserati joined a collection of exotica that Charlie Watts viewed as an aesthetic art collection. We can only imagine the ‘Satisfaction’ Charlie got from viewing this Maserati Coupe.

All original booklets are present of course & are retained in the Maserati wallet.

Body & Paintwork

With such low mileage you would expect this example to present very well & it does.

Very few imperfections, with all original badges still in place, presenting well.

Again, all glass & lights appear to be in good original condition.

A few very small minor marks are present, this is being fussy, but we like to be honest & up front.

 

Interior & Trim

The Silver exterior is complimented by a black leather inter & trim.

The Trident-embossed front seats are heated & electrically adjusted – of course these are in great condition.

Charlie Watts didn’t drive but instead was chauffeured or he sat in his cars listening to the purr of the engines, sitting in the driver seat of this Maserati it’s easy to imagine the joy & relaxation this bought.

Unfortunately, one thing this car has succumbed to, like many turn of the century Italian cars, is the “sticky button syndrome” across some of the rubberised plastic controls & fittings.

The stereo is the original Blaupunkt unit – with sat nav, phone prep & the 5-stack CD changer in the boot.

Other than some of the ‘sticky’ switches, everything is in great order with minimal signs of wear, as you would expect with such low mileage.

Engine

At the heart of the 4200 Coupe is a Ferrari made 4.2L V8 engine, a true powerhouse that delivers exhilarating performance.

The engine bay presents very well with the red cam covers & champagne inlet manifold making a striking impression in the bay.

Having benefitted from a recent service, you can rest assured the car is running beautifully as you would hope.

It goes without saying that the car makes a glorious noise.

Running Gear

The underside of this Maserati Coupe is on good condition as you would expect for the mileage & has been thoroughly checked in our workshop.

The wheels are original, still sporting original tyres (we would recommend these to be changed if the car is to be used on the road). A couple of small marks are present on the wheels.
