MK Indy Classic Zetec

For sale is my 2012 (62) MK Indy Classic. The car runs a 2L Zetec with ZX10 throttle bodies and Emerald ECU.

The full spec is in the photos from when I purchased the car almost 3 years ago, and below is the work I have carried out since my ownership. The car has covered around 6k miles since the crate Zetec was fitted, 4k of them since I purchased in 2022.

2022:

- New LED rear lights, side indicators and front indicators fitted

- Exhaust can repacked with acoustafil

- Hydro dipped carbon front lights

2023:

- New seat pads from MK

- New black MK/TRS 4 point harnesses with new TRS shoulder pads

- New front offside HiSpec hub and bearing

- Refurbed and painted wheels in satin anthracite, and fitted new Toyo 888R rear tyres which have only done 1500miles approx. since fitting

- Rear diff service

- Full gearbox service including all seals and gaskets

- Fuel filter

- Rear CV boots

- Cambelt and water pump

- New pipercross PX600 air filter

- New uprated 82 degree thermostat from Burton Power

- Coolant system professionally cleaned and flushed. Coolant replaced with Evans waterless Power cool coolant

- Fitted an MK rear diffuser

2024:

- Full setup, throttle body sync and rolling road at Emerald near Thetford August 2024. The car made 186BHP and 155lb ft torque, some 360BHP per tonne. Graph in photos section

- New rear Sierra brake calipers and new pads

- New uprated MK brake master cylinder with 19.05 bore

- New Racetech side mirrors

Every winter it has had new Castrol Ford oil and filter service. Always garaged, very rarely driven in the wet (only when mother nature catches me out), and I am only the second owner. The first, David White, kept the car in pristine mechanical shape after building it himself. It has been built with a lot of thought and to a very high standard. It is rose jointed on all corners, front anti roll bar, strengthened rear uprights, billet front uprights, Wilwood front brakes, Lifeline 360 fire extinguisher all plumbed in....... Has full custom cockpit vinyl covers that clip on for trailering, or a separate passenger one if driving alone.

I am bound to have forgotten bits but it is a lovely car, drives and handles fantastic. The noise from the throttle bodies is addictive.

The bonnet has a 'spiders web' effect of cracks in the gel coat. Unfortunately, the previous owner had a bonnet catch failure and the bonnet left the chat. The bonnet catches were renewed and upgraded at the time. It has never really bothered me so have not replaced the bonnet during my ownership. I have ordered a new bonnet from MK which will either be fitted or will come with the car at time of purchase.

Time is my only reason for sale. I am so busy with work and family I simply don't get to drive it often enough. I'm looking at the dark side and getting something with a roof which I can use more frequently, whatever the weather.
