One of the finest mid-60s British sporting saloons, the S-Type is a genuine delight to drive and to ride in.

Unleashed in 1963, the Jaguar S-Type should have a far better standing in Jaguar folklore. Partly overshadowed by its impish little sister, the MK2, the S-Type is actually a far superior machine. The S-Type takes all of the good bits from the MK2, including those silky-smooth XK engines as well as its presence, comfort and interior decadence. By completely re-engineering the back half of the car, Jaguar not only improved the rear headroom and boot space, but thanks to the upgraded rear suspension and steering systems, gave it a superior ride to the MK2.

Today the S-Type stands out as a car that offers far more substance at a more appealing price than the MK2. Many of those who have driven the S-Type can testify this and it provides the same style, comfort, parts availability and performance. Created as the businessman's express for the Motorway age, the S-Type eventually outsold the MK2 and became something of a well-kept secret for those looking for fast, comfortable and robust family car.

Registered in 1965, this beautifully presented 4-owner Golden Sand car has a full red leather interior and fitted with the desirable 4-speed manual gearbox + overdrive, and of course the 3.8-litre straight-six. It comes with an impressive provenance, with invoices reaching back to 1987, a documented bare-metal respray in 2003 and almost £18k worth of invoices, including £3,300 spent in 2023. It comes with a recent service, and two keys and has been in the hands of the current owner for 21 years.
