W212 E63 AMG 5.5 V8 Bi Turbo

I’ve owned the car since 2020, and in that time, I have spent a lot of time and money in maintaining it.

I want to be very honest and transparent in the description of the car and history.

Like many other W212 E63 AMG’s, the car suffered from chain stretch at circa 30K (I’m trying to locate the paperwork as this was before my ownership) which was repaired.

I purchased the car with 49K on the clock, but unfortunately shortly after purchase the car flagged up some faults on the diagnostics. Due to some oil galleries in the cylinder head which were blocked with sealant from the repair above, the car needed a full head rebuild.

This was finally carried out by Mercedes Benz in Colchester June 21, to the tune of £21K.

Since the rebuild, some of the works carried out to the car are follows:

February 2022 the lock up clutch in the gearbox was replaced by Mercedes Benz Colchester.

April 2022 the rear differential was replaced by Mercedes Benz Colchester

July 2022 new Lambda sensor replaced by Mercedes Benz Colchester

August 2022 new rear air suspension fitted by Mercedes Benz Colchester

March 2023 new charge cooler, new tires (Michelin Pilot Supersports) all round, Service A, new bonnet struts, bonnet switches, tie rods (as part of Mercedes Benz recall)

June 2024 new engine fitted by Mercedes Benz Colchester under warrantee– this was due to head gasket failure from the cylinder head rebuild carried out in June 21.

Mercedes Benz Colchester also replaced the brake discs and pads all round, replaced the rear air suspension, and new battery at the same time.

March 2025 new radiator fitted by Mercedes Benz Colchester.

The above does not take into account the service history, which has been carried out by Mercedes Benz:

August 2014 – Service B – 20909 miles

October 2015 – Service A – 27900 miles

October 2016 – Service B – 34331 miles

July 2017 – Service A – 37120 miles

October 2019 – Service B – 44565 miles

January 2021 – Service B – 50338 miles

February 2022 – Service B – 64738 miles

March 2023 – Service A – 69055 miles

The car is mechanically sound, with only 6900 miles on the new engine which was run in, in accordance with Mercedes Benz recommendations followed by a service.

The metallic black paintwork is in good condition for age, with a small number of stone chips on the front end as expected.

The car has a carbon fibre rear diffuser, rear spoiler and wing mirrors which really sets it off.

The 19inch alloys are in good condition with just a few minor scuffs, the tires have good tread remaining.

The Panoramic Roof and blind works fine, and a great addition.

The interior is in good condition for age, and shows minimal sign of wear, with all buttons and functions in full working order. Black leather with Burnt Ash and Piano Black. Alcantara steering wheel.

Airconditioning works fine, and nice and cold.

The entertainment system works fine, with 6-disc integrated changer and TV tuner (also plays DVDs). Rear view camera. Harmon Kardon speakers.

Overall, I can’t really fault the car, and it pulls like a train.

I do have stainless steel catless downpipes, and a MyGenius OBDII containing an MSL remap which I can include in the sale for additional cost (happy to negotiate). This will take the car to Stage 2 with 700bhp. I’ve not fitted to the car as I wanted the engine to be run in properly, then never got round to it.
