1990 CATERHAM SEVEN (S3)

1990 Caterham 2000cc X.E. For Sale.

Briefly - the car has to go...It belonged to a good friend of mine, his daughter (who lives in Oman) has plans to develop the properties.

She arrived this week to spend this month clearing the houses and organising builders, she needs the garage empty for storage. We have decided to let the car go for the lowly sum of £18,000.

This car belonged to a very good friend of mine who sadly passed away in 2023, his daughter has asked me to sell the car on her behalf.

Originally purchased as a De Dion starter kit (original invoice available)

This car competed in the Caterham Vauxhall Challenge and raced in that series until 1998. The car was fastidiously maintained by Sebah Race Team.

Ownership passed to my friend in 1999 and it was converted (by Sebah) to road spec. and registered. Occasional Track Days and road use followed.

Approx. 3 years ago a very high specification engine was built (professionally) also Elite IL200 sequential 5 speed 'box fitted along with other upgrades.

2000cc Millington aluminium block, Coscast aluminium head, Arrow Billet Steel crank(£3,500), Arrow rods(£1,400), Omega pistons(£600),Liners(£1000),titanium valve springs etc. etc....

Resulting in 260 B.H.P. - dry sump, ZF L.S.D., Custom SS manifold/Raceco exhaust etc.

The car has always been garaged and has been worked on throughout its life by the same Race Mechanic.

It has had virtually no use since the engine was upgraded. It is a "Track focused car" in its present trim, but will be sold with all parts that are needed to pass M.O.T. I.e. Wipers/windscreen/handbrake cable and calipers.

The car was damaged enroute to its first outing at Cadwell Park track day (whilst being trailered) caused by a van hitting the trailer resulting in the rear panel and rear "basket" being replaced by Arch Motors. Rear suspension parts including new bearings/hubs/ears/de dion tube/radius arms were all replaced with new (under insurance).

There are three folders of paperwork dating back to 1990 inc. Original Caterham invoice.

Personal number plate "C7 XTC" and V5 included, car registered 1/5/1999, one owner only. History of the cars journey to this point can be told by me (too long a story to type!)
