Mercedes SL 63 Performance Pack

After much soul searching we’ve reluctantly decided the time has come to sell our SL 63.

It was originally registered to MB UK as part of their executive fleet and has just about every option then available.

It was then bought by a specialist Mercedes dealer who added it to his personal collection but used it sparingly.

We then bought it from Mercedes in Plymouth in 2018 with approximately 8k miles on it. Current mileage is just over 20k, so very low for a 2013 car.

In our tenure, it was mainly used for UK and European summer road trips and always garaged and SORN’d during the winter months.

However, the pandemic brought an abrupt halt to proceedings and subsequent change in circumstances, advancing years and ongoing health issues mean that the car has had little use since.

We’ve reluctantly accepted that we aren’t going to be enjoying long road trips again and the car deserves better than just sitting in our garage.

As mentioned earlier, this SL has almost all available options including Satnav, TV tuner, Harmon Kardon sound system, heated and cooled multi contour pneumatic seats, Split screen display (allows passenger and driver to see different view of the same screen, ie driver will see SatNav while passenger can watch a DVD using headphones and remote), infra red night vision, real carbon fibre trim and fittings, Magic Vision panoramic roof, Distronic adaptive cruise control, active parking, Airscarf neck heating, Exclusive Nappa leather, Keyless Go – the list goes on and on. About the only option missing is soft close doors but, honestly, if you can’t manage to shut the doors then I really don’t think you should be driving anything, let alone a car like this!

It also has the Performance Pack which gives a modest increase in power to 577bhp, a leather and alcantara steering wheel and crucially a limited slip differential which is essential to get the best out of the ABC suspension, handling and power.

I’ve added a SmartTop module which enables extra features like automated raising and lowering of the roof, alarm chirps, raising of side windows with top down etc.

We were told that the total value of the options was about £50k on top of £130k for the basic car, so a very expensive buy in 2013.

The car has a good service history with a mix of MB main dealer and respected Independent garages and will be serviced and MOT’d prior to sale. Tyres are matching Goodyear Asymmetric 5’s with plenty of tread.

All paperwork is available and it also comes with an owners manual.

Bodywork and interior is immaculate and reflects the low mileage and careful use.

In summary, this car is great all-rounder, very quick if you want (0-60 4sec) but also quiet and comfortable for long distance cruising where it will return low to mid 30’s to the gallon. We’ll really miss it….
