1976 Daimler Sovereign 4.2 LWB

Pavilion Gardens | Buxton, Derbyshire 6000 - 8000 Registration No: RMA 324P Chassis No: 2S7114BW MOT: Exempt Finished in Cream with Tan Connolly leather and a vinyl roof Collection of old MOT certificates Daimler maintenance, lubrication and wiring charts Offered with numerous invoices on file for work carried out The Daimler Sovereign was a name applied to a sequence of luxury cars built by Jaguar but carrying the Daimler badge between 1966 and 1983 and were based on contemporary Jaguar body shells, chassis and engines. The launch of the Jaguar XJ6 in 1968 and its Daimler sister in 1969 redefined expectations in the luxury car sector. The new model truly 'moved the goalposts', setting new standards in comfort, refinement and handling. A waiting list was quick to form and enthusiasm remained strong upon the introduction of the facelift variant for the 1974 model year. Commonly referred to as the "Series II", the 4.2L XJ6 straight-6 engine (most popular in the United Kingdom) and the 5.3L V12 XJ12 were continued with an addition of a 3.4L 3,442cc version of the XK engine available from 1975. Initially, the Series II was offered with two wheelbases, but at the 1974 London Motor Show Jaguar announced the withdrawal of the standard wheelbase version: subsequent saloons/sedans all featured the extra 4 inches (10cm) of passenger cabin length hitherto featured only on the long-wheelbase model. First registered on 12th May 1976, this Daimler Sovereign 4.2 with automatic transmission, finished in Cream with Tan Connolly leather and a vinyl roof, offered the height of luxury from BL of the day and with its long wheelbase, it delivered in terms of rear passenger comfort. This gracious car is everything which Daimler has ever representeda prestigious and dignified way to travelspaciousness; refinement; proportion. Accompanying the Sovereign are the Daimler maintenance, lubrication and wiring charts, Daimler dealer list and a Daimler brochure from the period. There are numerous invoices on file for work carried out in Lancashire and Cheshire during the 1980s and 90s including the purchase of a pair of used carburettors and transmission and engine servicing. Inside theres a period Fujitsu radio cassette with handbooks on file. Its offered with a collection of old invoices & MOT certificates from the 1980s to the 1990s and the current V5C document.
