Caterham Superlight R300

The Superlight R300 originally came to the market in 2003 with the Rover K-Series engine. At the time it marked a step change in Caterhams Superlight range bringing together the lessons learnt from the original Superlight and Superlight R models to create the perfect Caterham. The result was the most popular Caterham ever produced to this day.

This “Gen 2” Superlight R300 using the 2.0L Ford Duratec engine retains the idealised performance figures of circa 300bhp per tonne, but with a level of refinement above the original R300.

The updated dashboard and switchgear brings a real sense of modernism to this 50’s engineering masterpiece and the torque produced by the Duratec engine offers a drivability factor which was hard to find from the previous Rover power plant.

This R300 is in excellent running order and looks superb in Firecracker Yellow. It does however have some cosmetic imperfections which have led us to offer this Superlight to the market at its stated price of £24,995. Mainly, this car is sufferring with mild oxidisation in the paint, which presents as minor blistering in the paint. We have therefore priced it, at roughly the cost of a full respray, behind the retial value. This means, the purchaser has the opportunity to either run this awesome Seven without the need to be precious over its condition, or, fully repaint the car in a colour of their chosing, making it look like a brand new car, whilst adding that value to the cars residual value.
