TVR Tasmin FHC 2+2, one of only 6 made - modified TAX and MOT free

TVR 350i FHC 2+2, ONE OF ONLY 6 MADE, AND TAX AND MOT FREE FROM APRIL 2025!
This car is truly a rare beast, even more so than the SEACs although a slightly different model!
This car has undergone an extensive full body off restoration which started with the car being taken off the road in 2015 after my Taimar was completed.
It’s a beautiful Tasmin 350i FHC 2+2 and one of only 6 ever made with the rover V8 engine, this one has a very special V8 at that!
The engine was built by a company called Rovercraft back in the day and is a truly well built specimen with triple valve springs and a piper cam and lightened and balanced bottom end the car really revs nice and freely, accelerates like a scalded cat and sound immense.
I have also been informed by an old Rovercraft employee that ALL the wedges they did engines for where 4.0 litre units but I have no way to clarify this.
There is a Hitorque starter motor fitted as well.
To go along with that there are heat wrapped, stainless manifolds with 2 1/2” straight through pipes from each bank and dual outlet pipes at the rear (with inserts if needed 🤣) which burble and crackle on the overrun!
I fitted an LSD from a later 390se and both the LSD and the gearbox have been rebuilt.
The gearbox is filled with FUCHS Race SRG75 ear oil , and the diff is running with FUCHS Race 90Ls oil.
With new clutch, master and slave, and fluids all round the drivetrain is perfect.
The engine ignition system has also been modified, this was replaced with a trigger wheel and megajolt ignition system with and edis8 module and small Megajolt programmable ecu, this also included coil packs and 8mm silicone leads to finish off and gives a more enjoyable, programmable and reliable ignition system.
The whole body was removed from the chassis and some welding work was carried out on the outriggers to remove and replace any rot, and then zinc sprayed and powder coated in silver as per original.
Following this, everything metal that could be removed from the car was taken off and subjected to blasting, zinc spraying and powder coating in automotive black including the front suspension, rear suspension and diff carrier tie bars, roll bar, mounting plates, springs etc, and new poly bushes installed into every component for the complete back end of the car to stiffen up the ride. Metalastic bushes were fitted to the front end apart from the tie bars as they suffer quickly in compression so these are poly bushed instead.
The rear end trailing arm set was also modified, with mods completed to the differential under frame and front connection point, and one of the racing 'rose joint' set ups from Richard Thorpe has been fitted giving a much stronger and stiffer arrangement and a more planted feel to the car and the option to adjust the rear going tie bars.
All brake lines have been replaced with braided lines front to back
All brakes are refurbished by bigg red including the handbrake callipers and finished in light blue.
Braided clutch hose and new slave and master
All injectors were refurbished by Injectortune and balanced with new seals and runners and hose tails to the fuel rail.
An adjustable Sytec fuel pressure regulator was also added to refine the tuning.
New cunifer fuel lines fitted with new fuel pump and filter and a custom made ODP swirl pot for the return fuel line, despite this car having a single tank in the rear behind the rear seats.
Upgraded light lift motors with new powder coated brackets to utilise the easily available MX5 lift motor units so more reliable and available.
Stainless headers wrapped for under bonnet heat.
New water pump and oil pump and new oil pump internals from real steel
New Hitorque starter motor
New oil seals front and rear of the engine
New core plugs
New hoses
Manual Steering rack refurbished
New wheel bearings and seals front and rear
New upper and lower front ball joints.
New track rod ends
VR1 engine oil
Fuchs titan racing gear oil srg75
Fuchs differential oil 90ls
New gearbox mounting bushes
New poly bushes on the gearbox remote
Updated later model wing mirror pods
390se rear under spoiler factory fitted by request of previous owner at the factory
Engine bay wiring re covered with loom tape and tidied up
Distributor blanking pate plug installed and coil packs covering.
New copper pipes from the master cylinder to all brakes and across the differential
Braided short brake hoses
Rebuilt brake master and tested slave vacuum
Stainless nuts and bolts from body to chassis and new packing.
Fuel tank cleaned and painted, this is a single piece tank mounted inside the car rather than hung under the body on the outside and is connected to a swirl pot under the car which takes the fuel rail return line.
New boot carpets and under matting and new carpets to the front area
New GAZ gold adjustable front and rear shocks and adjustable platforms on the rear
New earthing braided cables across the car
New positive and negative battery cables.
Interior
The interior is full leather from the factory and is in excellent condition with a few minor blemishes around the rear tailgate where it leaked prior to my ownership and has been cleaned and moisturised
The headliner has also been renewed with a velvet alcantara material
The carpets have been renewed throughout with new mats as well.
Exterior
The wheels are in very good condition and have been refurbished with new tyres around 5 years ago
The door frames are excellent and a usual failure area on the FHCs.
There are a few blemishes here and there and there is some lacquer lifting in some small areas and I would prefer to leave the patina and history but if I paint the car fully then the price will increase to cover the cost, I have access to a paint shop and they will be taking the car in two weeks to paint the front bumper and rear under spoiler.
Dual 21/2 “ tail pipes through the 390se under spoiler.
There was a factory fit A/C on this car and all of the internals are still in position, the compressor, condenser and pipes are removed from the engine bay but I have them available and can be easily refitted
The original engine is also available to ensure a number matching original vehicle can be presented in the future and the original engine has been stored in a clean dry area and ran nicely before being removed and replaced
The old Lucas distributor system wiring is also still in place and hidden should someone want to return to original.
the rear tie bars are also readily available to return to original condition
The car is priced at £19,000
I will happily negotiate in this price in person following a appointment for viewing and chauffeured test drive, a listen to the exhaust alone should sell this car, it is sublime!
The car is in storage for the moment until the new workshop is completed.
I would also consider a PX up to 5k based on a car buying sites price evaluation
TVRs would be the PX of choice and preferably wedges as I will be starting a new venture to restore TVR Wedges this coming year!
I have photos all through the restoration and these will be available on request.
