Bugatti Type 35-Style Cyclekart

This handmade cyclekart was built by Frank Bankonin Cyclekarts in Germany to resemble a scaled-down version of the Bugatti Type 35 Grand Prix car. The aluminium body is finished in dark blue and features 18″ wheels, a faux radiator shell, a side-mount spare wheel, a Bugatti emblem, and dual seats trimmed in tan upholstery. The kart is also equipped with an electric starter, headlights, a disc brake, a faux fuel cap, a Brooklands-style windscreen, a faux engine starter handle and gear shifter, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. Power is provided by a 212cc air-cooled Predator single linked to a torque converter.
The aluminium body is fitted over a wood platform mounted to a steel chassis and is finished in dark blue. It features a faux radiator shell with a black grille, a white-painted #18 race number, headlight buckets applied with black protective tape, a louvered hood with leather straps, and a vented rear engine cover. Additional features include a leather wind deflector affixed below the Brooklands-style windscreen, a faux rear-mounted fuel filler cap, and a radiator mascot. A faux gear shift lever is positioned on the right side.
The 18″ silver-finished wire wheels have silver Bugatti-style aluminium inserts and knock-off spinners and are mounted with bias-ply tires. A matching spare wheel and tire are mounted on the left of the body. The kart is equipped with a black steel frame and rear inboard slotted disc brakes.
The cockpit features dual padded seats upholstered in tan upholstery that sit aft of a four-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel with hemp-wrapped grip sections. Additional equipment includes an oil can, leather tool pouches, a leather battery cover, and a rear-view mirror with an aerodynamic cover.
Additional features include an engine-turned dashboard with faux Bugatti-branded instrumentation, with a faux fuel pump handle on the left side and a starter key, manual choke lever, and headlight rocker switch on the right. A reproduction dealer plaque is affixed to the dashboard on the left side.
The 212cc OHV Predator single is linked with an electric starter, a torque converter, and a drive chain. A chrome-tipped exhaust extends downwards at the rear.
The manufacturer’s plaque affixed to the dashboard shows a production date of May 2023.
